Nigerian Idol Season 9 winner, Chima Udoye, says he is yet to come to terms with his emergence as winner of the popular reality show, adding that he is also not yet sure whether he is prepared for the fame that comes with it.

Looking rather reserved and shy in a short chat with Arise Television on Friday, Chima declined to delve into what happens behind the scene in the reality show, saying “There are certain things I cannot say.”

He however expressed relief that the contest has finally come to an end revealing that it was challenging and body aching, describing his eventual emergence as scary. “It has been scary and challenging, two months of not sleeping and hard work” he said.

On whether he is prepared for fame, the Digital creator  said: “I don’t know whether I am ready for fame,” adding that he is still taking in all the development and his new found status.

He admitted that calls and messages to him have hit an all-time high since his emergence as Nigerian Idol 9 winner. He, however said for the moment, he is not into too much outings and interactions.

Chima is known for his onstage charisma and vocal dexterity, the quality that left the judges – 9ice, Omawumi and Ric Hassani – speechless with every performance.

During the grand finale performances, Omawumi pointed out that Chima was in a competition with himself – a true testament to how his rise on the show reflects how much he is capable of beyond the boundaries of the competition.

More Largesse For The Latest Idol King

Mega endorsements have already started rolling in with telecom outfits supporting the new idol with their products amidst other mouthwatering packages. Prime Business Africa reports that Chima was blessed with a cash prize of N30 million, a brand new SUV, DStv Explora plus a one year premium subscription.

Chima Udoye studied at the  Federal Government College Warri, Delta State and Federal Polytechnic Oko, Anambra State.
