How Nollywood Actress, Omotola Jalade, Escaped LA Wildfire

Veteran Nollywood actress, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, has revealed how she escaped being caught-up in the web of Los Angeles Wildfire.

The devastating wildfires ravaging the coastal state of California, United States of America in the last two days has left in its wake heavy losses in lives and properties.

In a post via her Instagram page, Omotola announced that she is currently in Abuja. The thespian said she evacuated her home in 20 minutes and urged her fans to check on their family members living in Los Angeles.

She wrote, “Touch down Abuja. I had to evacuate in 20mins. Please, guys stay safe out there. If you got family in LA, check on them.”

According to latest report, no fewer than 180,000 people have been compelled to leave their homes, and multiple deaths have been recorded

Reports also claimed that powerful winds and dry conditions triggered the Los Angeles wildfires, with fire fighters overwhelmed by the magnitude of destruction.

Hollywood stars, including Paris Hilton, Adam Brody, Ben Affleck, Eugene Levy, Miles Teller, Leighton Meester, Anna Faris, and Billy Crystal, have been forced to leave their mansions because of the wildfire.

Nigeria’s reality TV star, Morey Faith, was also affected, as she shared a video of the incident on her Instagram page.

Meanwhile, Multiple award winning American actor and film producer, Mel Gibson, is counting his loses following the inferno that has shocked the world.

The 69-year-old actor shared his devastation after his home was razed by the horrific wildfires, in an emotional interview on NewsNation’s Elizabeth Vargas Reports.

While he was filming the podcast, Mel said he knew his neighbourhood was on fire and wondered if his home was still standing

Mel began: ‘Obviously, it’s kind of devastating. It’s emotional.’

He added: ‘I was doing the Rogan podcast… And [I was] kind of ill at ease while we were talking, because I knew my neighbourhood was on fire, so I thought, I wonder if my place is still there.

‘But when I got home, sure enough, it wasn’t there. I went home and I said to myself, well, at least I haven’t got any of those pesky plumbing problems anymore.

Mel has been trying to sell his sprawling mansion for years and even knocked $3million off its $14.5millionthe listing price.

The sprawling property, built in 1996, was purchased by the Oscar winner in 2008 for a cool $11.5 million and boasted five-bedroom, as well as a majestic old world feel including a castle style turret.
