Tinubu's Wife To Nigerians: 'My Husband Not Magician', Calls For Hope, Trust

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has reaffirmed the Federal Government’s confidence in the nation’s continued unity, declaring that despite prevailing economic and security challenges, the country “will not disintegrate.”

She delivered the message on Sunday during a thanksgiving service at the Methodist Unity Cathedral in Abuja, held in honour of the investiture of Most Rev. Sunday Onuoha as the Archbishop on Special Duties in the Methodist Church.

Represented by Stephen Adegbite, Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, Mrs Tinubu said Nigeria would emerge stronger from its current difficulties. She urged citizens to sustain prayers for peace and stability across the country.

“Nigeria will remain one indivisible entity. God will be with Nigeria. We shall celebrate the coming Christmas in peace and joy, and it shall be well with Nigeria,” she said, according to accounts by the News Agency of Nigeria and other verified outlets.

The First Lady added that while Nigeria welcomes support from global partners in tackling insecurity, such cooperation must not compromise the country’s dignity or sovereignty.

Also speaking at the service, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, called for deeper international collaboration to address security challenges but stressed that national independence must remain paramount. He commended the church for its role in promoting unity and national cohesion.

In his remarks, Archbishop Onuoha warned against downplaying the severity of the country’s problems, especially insecurity. He urged Nigerians and the government to confront the issues collectively and transparently.

The ceremony, which drew clerics, government officials and members of the Methodist community, doubled as a platform for renewed calls for national unity.

Mrs Tinubu’s assurance aligns with the administration’s message that, despite mounting pressures, Nigeria’s federation remains intact and resilient.
