Starting like an encounter that will favour the Nigerian ladies, Enem Peace Edem shot Edo Queens into the lead in the 65th minute thus putting the Nigeria side in the driving seat.

All the girls needed to do was increase the tally or maintain their lead to the end of the game, but that was not to be as hard fighting TP Mazembe did the unthinkable grabbing an equaliser at the dot of 90 minutes through Merveille Kanjinga , forcing the match into extra time.

An own goal by comfort Folorunsho in the 101minute of the game became the straw that broke the camel’s back as it gave the ladies from DR Congo a 2-1 lead.

As if that was not enough pain for the day, TP Mazembe were awarded a penalty in the 105th minute of the game which  Marlène Kasaj did not hesitate to convert, handing the  Congolese a 3-1 victory and a ticket to the final where they will face hosts AS FAR of Morocco on Saturday, November 23.

The hosts edged FC Masar of Egypt 2-1 to zoom into the final. After missing the opportunity to play in the final, Edo Queens will on Friday face FC Masar of Egypt in a must win third place encounter if they are to replicate the feat achieved by Bayelsa Queens two years ago.

The Coach Moses Aduku tutored side  will need to maintain the tempo and better still increase the tempo of their game  in Friday’s third place clash against the Egyptians who are equally planning to give the battle their all.
