Following CAF much awaited decision on the botched Libya and Nigeria AFCON match, Chairman of Libya Football Federation, Nasir Al-Swaiei, has hauled pebbles at the Continental soccer ruling body, accusing it of being unjust.

His submission is coming on the heels of three points and three goals awarded to Nigeria and order by CAF that Libya pay a fine of $50,000  for the inhuman treatment meted on the Super Eagles leading to the delisting of second leg AFCON qualifier between the two countries originally billed for October 15 in Benina.

According to the Libyan Observer, CAF took the decision to favour Nigeria because “Nigeria Football Federation has great influence within the corridors of CAF” and vowed that the LFF will appeal the decision, adding “Libya will appeal against this unfair decision. “If the CAF rejected the appeal, Libya would take Nigeria to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).” Al-Swaiei said.

By the ruling of CAF’s Disciplinary Committee, Nigeria now has ten points after initially leading the group with seven points in three matches. By implication the Eagles have already qualified for the next AFCON to be hosted by Morocco in 2025.
