Women’s Champions League: Edo Queens Usani Makes CAF Best Eleven

Confederation of African Football (CAF), has released the best 11 of the just concluded Women Champions League held in Morocco with Edo Queens defender Miracle Usani making the list.

A look at the Best XI dished out by the Continental soccer ruling body based on the players’ performance during the championship, indicate that four players emerged from debutants FC Masar, four from champions TP Mazembe, two from runners-up AS FAR, and one from Edo Queens who made a make sacking defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa, despite missing the final and failing to win the third place match.

The lineup is anchored in goal by Habiba Sabry of FC Masar, whose outstanding saves earned her the Best Goalkeeper award.

The defence includes FC Masar’s Shadia Nankya and Aisha Nantongo at centre-back, with Miracle Usani of Edo Queens on the left and TP Mazembe’s Vukulu Belange on the right.

In midfield, TP Mazembe’s Marline Kasaj holds the defensive role, while AS FAR’s Sanaa Mssoudy and Sandrine Nyonkuru of FC Masar provide creative spark in attacking roles.

The attack line is led by Doha El Madani (AS FAR), the tournament’s top scorer, on the right wing, TP Mazembe’s Lacho Marta on the left, and Merveille Kanjinga (TP Mazembe) as the central striker.

Recall that Edo Queens claimed $300,000 about N510 million for their effort at the tournament which saw winners TP Mazembe earn $600,000 while runners-up AF FAR made took home $400,000.
