The Communiqué aside from apologising to Nigerians for the poor outing resolved to put every measure in place to ensure a better prepared squad ahead of AFCON 2025 qualifiers in September this year and resumption of World Cup qualifiers in March next year.

The Committee further resolved to re-jig the technical department by engaging additional quality hands.  The board also frowned at the poor attitude of some players to national assignment and resolved to jack up interesting in combing the globe in search of eligible Nigerian players in the diaspora ready to add value to the national team.

Missing the last World Cup in Qatar and flagging off the qualifiers on a shaky note no doubt appears to have jolted the football house to begin to seek ways of arresting the drift before the dream of playing at the next world cup in 2026 slips away.

The Super Eagles have six more world Cup qualifiers three at home and three away beginning with the away match to Rwanda on March 17.

The Eagles are currently languishing in the fourth position in Group C with just three points in four matches played so far. Rwanda lead the Group with seven points same with South Africa and Benin Republic in second and third places respectively.
