The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared Abdullahi Bashir Haske, a businessman and son-in-law of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, wanted over an alleged case of criminal conspiracy and money laundering.

In a public notice signed by its Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, the anti-graft agency urged Nigerians with credible information on Haske’s whereabouts to report to the nearest police station or any EFCC office nationwide.

“The public is hereby notified that Abdullahi Bashir Haske, whose photograph appears above, is wanted by the EFCC in an alleged case of criminal conspiracy and money laundering,” the statement read.

The EFCC listed Haske’s last known addresses as No. 6 Mosley Road, Ikoyi, and 952/953 Idejo Street, Victoria Island, both in Lagos. Citizens with useful information are asked to reach the Commission through its offices across major cities including Ibadan, Uyo, Sokoto, Maiduguri, Benin, Makurdi, Kaduna, Ilorin, Enugu, Kano, Lagos, Gombe, Port Harcourt, and Abuja or via its official telephone lines and email channels.

Haske, 38, is the Group Managing Director of AA&R Investment Group, a Nigerian conglomerate with interests in oil and gas, agriculture, aviation, ICT, logistics, and marine services. He has been profiled in the Nigerian press as a rising player in the energy sector and is associated with Etihad Oilfield Services, a firm linked to oil exploration activities in the Kolmani River area of the North-East.

Reports have also linked him to transactions involving assets previously held by Addax Petroleum, though the details of those deals have generated scrutiny. His corporate base in Victoria Island, Lagos, matches one of the addresses cited by the EFCC in its wanted notice.

The EFCC’s move comes at a time of heightened focus on accountability in Nigeria’s public and private sectors. Financial crimes in the oil and gas industry, where Haske built much of his business profile, remain an area of national concern given the sector’s central role in government revenue and Nigeria’s economic stability.

The declaration also carries political weight, as Haske is married into the family of Atiku Abubakar, a former Vice President and perennial presidential contender. While the EFCC has not released full details of the allegations, the notice signals a widening dragnet in the Commission’s efforts to tackle high-profile corruption and money laundering cases.

As of press time, Haske has not publicly responded to the EFCC notice. The Commission is soliciting public support to track him down, with assurances that information can be submitted confidentially through its official hotlines, email, or security agencies nationwide.
