English Premier League (EPL) has confirmed the fixtures for the opening day of 2024/2025 season, with defending champions, Manchester city pitched against Chelsea, in a mouthwatering tie at the Stamford Bridge.

According to the league body, the new season will begin on Saturday, August 17, 2024 and end on Sunday May 25, 2025

Last season’s runner-up, Arsenal will welcome Wolves to the Emirates Stadium in north London on the same day, while FA Cup winners, Manchester United are at home at Old Trafford to another London club, Fulham.  Carling Cup holders, Liverpool will be guests of newly promoted Ipswich Town.

Interestingly, Nigeria’s duo of Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey, who ply their trade with Fulham will have their hands full against Manchester United at the Old Trafford. The two Super Eagles’ stars scored in the same fixture last season and might be hoping to re-enact the feat when they hit Old Trafford again.
