Jennifer Jones Becomes First Female President, As Rotary Int’l Begins New Year

A member of the Rotary Club of Windsor-Roseland, Ontario in Canada, Jennifer Jones has assumed office today, July 1st 2022, as president of ‘Imagine Rotary’ year for the Rotary International (RI).

This followed her election as president in the past rotary year.

Nicki Scott was also appointed as Rotary International Vice President for the 2022-2023 Rotary year.

Jones had in January this year, announced the 2022-23 theme as, “Imagine, a world that deserves our best, where we get up each day knowing that we can make a difference”.

Rotary International is a recognized organisation by the United Nations, for its humanitarian-based service, bringing together business and professional leaders in the world.

The organisation has a seat in the General Assembly of the United Nations in recognition of the efforts of its membership to foster goodwill and peace across national boundaries.

She said, “We all have dreams but acting on them is a choice and when organisations like ours dream big things like ending Polio or creating peace, it becomes our responsibility to make these dreams a reality. You don’t imagine yesterday, you imagine tomorrow.”

Other districts, zones, and clubs of the

organisation spread throughout the world have also taken a new president.
