President Mohammadu Buhari conferred Teni alongside Burna Boy and Tuface today in Abuja with a Member of the Order of Nigeria Award. They were awarded this because of their impact, service, growth and achievements in the Nigerian music industry over the years.

Teni, Burna Boy Receive Award From President

The president presented these national awards on 447 Nigerian citizens and foreign nationals including ministers, icons, kings, artistes and even senate presidents in a ceremony held at the Government House Villa in Aso Rock.

Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu ”Burna Boy” who had previously won the World Album Category at last year’s Grammy Awards for his album ‘Twice As Tall’ was presented with the award of Member of the Federal Republic, MFR and the National award was received by his father as he was absent.

Simultaneously, music legend, Innocent Ujah Idibia, aka 2Face, and superstar singer, Teniola Apata “Teni” were awarded with the honour of Member of the Order of the Niger, MON.

He said, “Worthy of mention are our artistes, particularly, our very own Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu (Burna Boy), who won the Grammy Awards in 2020. He along with other artistes have repositioned the Nigerian entertainment industry and placed it on the global map. At the just concluded Dubai Expo 2020, Nigeria’s pavilion was a beehive of activities as our musicians entertained guests from around the world.” the statement added.

Reni also began to trend after this when Nigerians started to notice how much weight she had lost and gave their speculations on what they think was her reason behind this development. Amidst all these, her loyal fans have remained dedicated to the course of purely celebrating her wins and her successes regardless of whatever surrounds that.
