The governor also condoled with the media company,  where Otobo  was Director and Member of the Editorial Board.

Governor Soludo described the late Otobo as ”a fine Diplomat and peace builder whose contributions to global peace, media practice and service to his father land, Nigeria, were indeed commendable.”

In a statement signed by his Press Secretary, Christian Aburime and sent to PBA Tuesday night, the governor prayed for the repose of Otobo’s  soul and that God grant his family, the newspaper and many others ”he left behind the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.”

Ambassador Otobo joined the Board of  Newstide Publications, publishers of Prime Business Africa,  as director in June 2021 and was later announced as member of the Editorial Board of the newspaper one month after.

Mr Otobo had joined the United Nations after a distinguished career in the diplomatic service of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. In recognition of his contribution to Nigeria’s diplomacy and foreign policy, he was appointed an ambassador.

Ambassador Otobo is widely published and has written on a wide range of issues including peacebuilding, public service reforms, institutional development,  governance regulatory policy and management, and international trade.

It will be recalled Otobo was declared missing by Police in Tuckahoe, New York, United States of America and his body was later found.
