Davido Fulfils N250 Million Pledge To Orphanages

Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido has completed the redemption of his pledge of N250 million to 292 orphanage homes across Nigeria as part of his 2021 birthday celebration.

The popular singer on Tuesday 15th February 2022, released the list of orhapanages that benefited from the donation.

He had on November 19, 2021, announced his intention to donate the sum of N200 million received from friends and family together with his personal donation of N50 million to orphanages across Nigeria.

In a press statement signed by Davido on Tuesday, he said that as a follow up from the one that was made on his birthday last year, delivery of the donation has been completed.

He said a five-man disbursement committee was set up to collate and document orphanages that benefited from the donation.

He also listed and attached names of the beneficiary homes and how the funds were distributed and expressed appreciation to everyone who contributed to make it a success.

“So far, the total of N250,000,000 has been disbursed to 292 orphanages.

“As promised in my first statement, I have listed/attached the names and amounts disbursed to the various orphanages. In the spirit of transparency, I thought it wise to give you my loyal supporters, fans, friends and family an update in this regard.

“I would like to say a big thank you to everyone that made this possible, the commiee of high caliber and principled people who dedicated their time to ensuring this task was espeditiously carried out, my wonderful family, friends and well wishers. Thank you for your continuous support and love.

“Always remember, we rise by lifting others,” Davido stated.
