“Tall, dark and handsome” has long been upheld as the pinnacle of beauty for men.

And while there are of course many different types of beauty, this standard is one that is often still held over men’s heads.

Well, one woman who disagrees has made a strong case for choosing a boyfriend on the shorter side. And she has left people in stitches with her reasoning.

Taking to TikTok to share one of the many reasons why she loves dating her now-fiancé, Hynds revealed she can fit into his jeans – and they are a perfect fit.

The 24-year-old from Ireland posted her video to @annaliviahynds23, alongside the caption: “We love a short king.”

In the clip, she explains: “Everybody talks about having a really tall boyfriend, or they want like a boy who is tall dark and handsome, or whatever, has to be 6ft.

“Well, I’m going to tell you why I don’t want that because I have a boyfriend who is 5ft5

“He’s going through his cupboard here and he’s like, ‘I don’t want these jeans’. He’s never worn them, and he’s like, ‘I don’t want them, I’m just going to bin them’.”

And you can guess what happens next. Annalivia continues: “So he had them in the bin, and I was like, ‘let me try them on first, they might fit me,’ before flipping the camera round to reveal she is wearing the jeans, and they fit like a glove.

“Look at the fit of these,” she says. “I’m telling you, you wouldn’t even get girls’ jeans like this.

“I’ve just got myself a new pair of jeans for free, and if you had a boyfriend who was like 6ft, you wouldn’t be in this situation. So, girls, we stan, for our short kings.”

And fellow social media users were quick to praise the benefits of dating a short partner.

One person wrote: “Having a short long partner is elite!”
