Why Your Blog Posts Must Be Keyworded

I have seen many blog posts or should I be blunt here so we can call a spade one. Please permit me. Thanks. Okay. I have seen people write what they call posts for their blog and what they merely did was put together a press release or article in the name of a blog post.

Have you been reading from me? I have come again o…to use the Nigerian expression. A blog post is NOT a press release. I have been screaming about this, I have lost my voice. I still see it, everywhere I go. Or maybe the series of posts I have done about this don’t make it to people’s threshold. Do kindly always help me SHARE my posts as well as ALL content from Prime Business Africa. “Why Prime Business?” You may ask. To drive growth, people especially businesses (big and small) have a lot of entrepreneurship and search engine optimisation tips coming from the newssite.

Okay.

A blog post is not a press release!!!!!!!!!!! Is it loud enough now? Alright! It’s not an article, either. It is not the same with any type of journalistic writing you can think of. It is what it is – a blog post.

What makes it a blog post? I won’t waste your time. I am not about to go into everything that makes a blog post what it is. We won’t leave here today.  I just want to pick one key feature you must not miss in your post – the KEYWORDS. Keyword is the life and breath of blogging.

Brethren, if your blog post is bereft of keywords, then let’s say it’s the mainstream piece you wrote. Keywording your blog post is what makes all the difference. How to get your post properly keyworded? Get training! But I just want you to know in today’s teaching that if you did a blog or you hired someone to generate your blog content, then you must not post until you have done the keywording. That’s like your ATM card. Or can you withdraw cash from the machine without the card? No. You would be looking…I don’t know. But putting keywords on your blog posts is your ATM card that you need to access the currencies – Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Search Engine Marketing, (SEM).

What are those keywords, though? They are those words, your audience is most likely to use when they are trying to find your offerings online – on Google. Can you see the importance now? Your blog content must not be posted without them. Or don’t you want to be found online? Oh well, but that’s the implication.

Do kindly note that this post is a mere introduction to this topic. But at least it’s a good starting point. That counts, right?

Always remember to start with the topic, the niche… whenever you want to choose great keywords for your blog posts. Most importantly, don’t forget to use the tags. Tags alone are enough to make or break you. Please don’t joke with them ok.

But hey! If you can’t do it yourself as an SME, then get help. Did you know that this piece you are reading now is strongly keyworded? Sorry you may not know. But that’s because you are not an SEO expert.

You need the keywords. There cannot be enough shouting about it.

Keywords are what the search engines need to pass judgment on your content in order to verdict them “RELEVANT” enough to display to your target audience whenever they come looking for you.

Please SHARE this post. Thanks.
