A boutique owner simply identified with the Tiktok handle, @topnotchboutique has gone viral after she shared a formula that could help work out if a pair of jeans will fit without having to try them on first.
In the real world, finding a pair of jeans trousers that fit perfectly can be particularly tricky with sizing varying dramatically from jeans to jeans. What everyone would do is spend much time in the very front of the changing rooms’ queue every single time, trying the trousers on.

In a video that has since gone viral, the TikToker was seen pulling a pair of jeans from a rack promising: “I’m going to show you a jeans hack that’s going to be a lifesaver.”
Emerging from behind the curtain, she revealed that the jeans did indeed fit like a glove, just as she had anticipated.
“See? Look how cute they are,” she added.
Interestingly, this could be the aha moment for every jeans trousers lover as a trick to make sizing less tiresome is here now. To avoid stepping even a foot in the changing room, the woman said: If it fits around your neck, it’s going to fit.”
On this, her followers became divided, arguing the trick has always been a handy hint. While some said, they had known about the trick for years, handed down to them by their mothers and grandmas, others remarked that it does not always prove accurate for everyone.
One person noted that it really does depend on the material, stating that “if the fabric has no give in it, not going to fit”, while another said that the tip has “never worked for me but I am also a size 22.”
Answering queries in the comments section, the poster agreed that results can indeed vary depending on the stretchiness of the material, clarifying “all the jeans I buy are stretchy. Not a fan of 100% cotton.”
She also agreed that, while the trick works like a charm for her, a person’s body type can influence how well it works for them.
