While the United dominated possession and quite a lot of the ball, they struggled to turn this dominance into clear-cut scoring opportunities.

Palace, however, remained a threat on the counter-attack, with Jean-Philippe Mateta spurning a golden chance to break the deadlock. The flow of the game was disrupted by several stoppages due to injuries, including a brief scare for Daniel Munoz.

Nevertheless, United kept control on ball possession, creating numerous promising attacks, they were unable to find a breakthrough for a goal. Crystal Palace, on the other hand, remained a dangerous, distributing a thrilling counter-attack, with Ismaila Sarr proving to be a lively distributor.

Both sides made tactical substitutions, with key players like Lisandro Martinez, Manuel Ugarte, and Rasmus Hoejlund weighing in for United.

However, against the run of play, Crystal Palace capitalised on a defensive lapse, with Jean-Philippe Mateta finding the back of the net.

This late goal injected renewed energy into the Crystal Palace side, while United struggled to mount a significant response. Despite their dominance in possession, United ultimately failed to secure victory, conceding a late goal and allowing Crystal Palace to escape with a valuable point.
