Governor of Oyo State, ‘Seyi Makinde, has felicitated the governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Duoye Diri, on his re-election as the governor of the state, describing the victory as heart-warming for all members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He stated this on Tuesday, following the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) announcement of Governor Diri as the winner of Saturday’s governorship election in Bayelsa State.
Join our WhatsApp ChannelThe Oyo Governor congratulated his colleague, Diri, the PDP family in Bayelsa and the people of the state, adding that the governor would be able to consolidate the good development his administration had put in place in the state since he first assumed office almost four years ago.
Makinde, in a statement issued by his chief press secretary, Sulaimon Olanrewaju, equally commended the Bayelsa electorate on their peaceful conduct before, during and after the poll.

He said: “I congratulate my brother and governor of Bayelsa State, His Excellency, Governor Duoye Diri, on his re-election as governor of the state for another term of four years.
“This victory is heart-warming for us in the PDP and it is a testament to the fact that our party remains a credible platform with people-oriented leaders, who always put their people first.
“I commend the great people of Bayelsa State for retaining Bayelsa in the PDP by re-electing Governor Diri and also for their peaceful conduct before, during, and after the poll.”
