Christ the King College (CKC) Onitsha has again recorded a significant feat as most of its students came tops in the 2024 West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
According to a statement signed by the school principal, Rev. Fr. Dr. Celestine Okafor, out of 131 students registered for the WASSCE examination, 128 candidates made a distinction (A1) in Mathematics.

Prime Business Africa reports that WAEC on Monday, 12th August, announced the release of the 2024 WASSCE results. The examination body said a total of 1,814,736 candidates registered for the examination from 25,126 recognised secondary schools in the country.
According to the statement dated 16 August 2024, students recorded 98.47% pass rate as 129 candidates scored up to 5 credits including English and Mathematics in the 2024 WAEC examination
The statement reads: “Since the release of the 2024 WAEC results, we have seen at least two different reports on the performance of our students. We hereby set the record straight by providing accurate data on the said examination. Kindly ignore any result in circulation that does not bear the seal of the principal. CKC registered 131 students for the 2024 WAEC examination.
“The students recorded an impressive 98.47% pass rate, with 129 candidates scoring up to 5 credits, inclusive of English and mathematics (the standard pass in WAEC).
“Their performance in mathematics and the sciences is even more outstanding. In mathematics, an impressive 128 out of the 131 candidates made A1.
“Of the one hundred and eleven candidates (111) that offered chemistry and physics, 94 students made A1s in chemistry and 85 made A1s in physics. Overall, 125 students scored only As and Bs in seven subjects or higher. 35 candidates scored up to 6 A1s and above.
