The market closure which happened last week Thursday, was as a result of indiscriminate refuse dumping and refusal to patronise Private Sector Participation (PSP) operators.

The traders in Oyingbo market complex in Lagos on Wednesday protested against the closure of the Oyingbo market, wailing and lamenting.

They said the hardship been experienced as a result of the closure of the market is too much.

It was revealed that the market had been under lock and key since last week on the instruction of the President of the Association of Commodity Market Women and Men of Nigeria, Folashade Tinubu-Ojo. over an alleged display of wares in an untidy environment.

Protesting under the umbrella of Oyingbo Market Traders, they displayed placards with different inscriptions like “Folashade Tinubu Ojo, Ahmed Tinubu’s daughter, leave Oyingbo Market alone. Mainland Local Government, hear our cry”, “Folashade Ojo Tinubu, we have children and we have house rent to settle. We refuse to be miscreants”, “Bola Ahmed, please save us, save us from your daughter” and “Please, Folashade, release us from your enslavement.”
