Nze Duru, Others Selected For National Music Award

THE National Association of Nigerian Musicologists has selected the Chairman of  Grand Towers Limited, Nze Chidi Duru as a recipient of its award.

Duru and other awardees will be honoured at the association’s 18th conference and award nite scheduled to hold from August 16 to 20 at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State.

According to the association,  Duru’s contributions to music, particularly the Christmas carols he organised in Nkpologwu in December, are impressive.

Other individuals to be honoured at the event for their contributions towards promoting choral music in the society are former Vice-Chancellors of Unizik, Prof. Charles Okechukwu Esimone and Prof. Eberendu Ahaneku; former VC of the University of Port Harcourt, Prof. Ndowa Lale;  Bishop Owen Nwokolo of the Niger Diocese; and Senator Stella Oduah among others.
