Anambra Election: Saraki, Obidike Congratulates Soludo

Congratulatory messages have been pouring in from Nigerians to Prof. Charles Soludo, the victor of the Anambra governorship election.

Former Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki has congratulated the Governor-elect, Prof. Soludo, Nigerians and particularly the people of Anambra State for the successful completion of the gubernatorial election in that state.

Saraki, praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for adopting technology to improve the election process, particularly the deployment of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) and electronic transmission of results.

The former governor of Kwara state, opined that this elections have justified the fact that BVAS and electronic transmission of results are possible in Nigeria and can help to minimise incidents of fraud while enthroning the era of free, fair, and credible polls as they discourage ballot stuffing and alteration of authentic results by fraudulent officials.

He noted that though there were some hitches recorded during the weekend’s poll, he, however, INEC should not be deterred but go back to the drawing board to improve on the areas where there were setbacks.

Commending President Muhammadu Buhari and the security agencies over peaceful electoral exercise, Director General, Conference of APC Support Groups and member of the Party’s National Strategic Lobby Committee, Hon. Obidike Chukwuebuka, has congratulated the candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) Prof. ChukwumofSoludo, on his victory in the Anambra governorship election.

Obidike called on the runner ups to joins hands with Prof Chukwuma Soludo to work for the good of the state.

“It’s not about who or which party won the election, but rather it’s a victory’s for democracy, it’s a victory for Ndi Anambra and it’s a victory for peace, security and good governance.”

He said: “Ndi Anambra are a peace loving people, and therefore our state is not an abode for criminals who seek to perpetrate all sorts of heinous crimes at the detriment of the state.

He also commended all who have shown restraint, and sheathed their swords to see that violence and shedding of blood did not mar the state during the period of elections.

Hon Obidike commended President Muhammadu Buhari who gave the matching order to the security agencies to provide adequate security for all during the election and ensure that elections are held in Anambra.
