FEMI Fani Kayode has said he wants Nigeria to remain one indivisible country, reason for his defection.

He made this statement at the presidential villa where he was formally presented to the President as the newest member of the All Progressive Congress

Kayode explained that his defection from People Democratic Party (PDP) to ruling party was for the sake of Nigeria’s unity.

The former PDP spokesperson said he decided to join APC because he felt that it was time to put Nigeria first by doing everything humanly possible to ensure the unity of Nigeria is not threatened, build bridges, join hands together to ward off insurgents and terrorists and also appreciate the efforts of this government in the last couple of years.

In his words, “Leaving the PDP to join APC doesn’t, should not give rise to enmity of any sort. All of us, even if we’re in another party, the PDP or any other party or any other group, we can still work together across party lines, regional lines, ethnic lines, and religious lines. The most important thing is for us to understand and appreciate the fact that Nigeria must not disintegrate and those that want us to end up fighting one another in a war will be put to shame.”

The former Aviation Minister who is popular for saying he would rather die than join APC, said God told him to join the ruling party and that he was only obeying the voice of God.
