The faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) aligned with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, says it has uploaded the names of its presidential, vice-presidential and National Assembly candidates to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Candidate Nomination Portal (ICNP) ahead of the 2027 general elections, Prime Business Africa reports.
The announcement was made on Sunday by the faction’s National Chairman, Abdulrahman Mohammed Takushara, who described the development as another milestone in the party’s preparations for the polls.

In a statement, Takushara said the successful upload reflects the leadership’s commitment to ensuring the party’s full participation in the 2027 general elections.
“I am pleased to inform all PDP members and Nigerians that our great party, under my leadership, has successfully uploaded the names of our presidential candidate, running mate and National Assembly candidates onto the INEC Candidate Nomination Portal,” he said.
According to him, the submission marks another decisive step towards fulfilling the party’s pledge to contest the 2027 general elections.

Takushara added that the upload of the party’s governorship and State House of Assembly candidates is ongoing and would be concluded in due course.
He congratulated PDP members across Nigeria and in the diaspora, expressing confidence that the party would continue to strengthen its structures ahead of the elections.
The development comes against the backdrop of the lingering leadership crisis within the PDP, with rival factions laying claim to the party’s national leadership and direction.
While the upload of candidates represents a significant procedural step in the electoral process, any competing submissions or disputes over the party’s leadership may ultimately be subject to INEC’s determination and, where necessary, judicial resolution.
