Nze Duru Hosts Chartered Arbitrators In Abuja

Chairman, Grand Towers Limited, Nze Chidi Duru on Saturday, July 2, 2022, played host to members of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (United Kingdom) Nigeria Branch, Abuja Chapter.

The first-of-its-kind networking and mentoring session, which was held at the residence of Nze Duru, provided a fitting opportunity to engage this critical segment of Nigeria’s legal system.

Welcoming members of the Institute at the event, Nze Duru who is also the Deputy National Organizing Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), expressed his gratitude to the Executives of the Institute for giving him the honour of hosting the maiden edition of the Institute’s Networking and Mentoring session.

Duru stated that the event would provide the much-needed platform for members of the Institute to brainstorm and mentor younger arbitrators on novel strategies to resolve legal issues in line with global best practices.

Also speaking at the event, the Chapter Chairman, Hon. Sola Ephriam Oluwanuga, mni, C. Arb. commended all members of the Institute present for making out time from their busy schedules to attend the event.

Oluwanuga he re-emphasized the need for senior arbitrators to use younger arbitrators in the Chapter as Registrars or Secretaries as well as allow them to sit in as interns in their references.

He appreciated the host, Nze Duru, for treating members of the Institute to a splendid entertainment.

The pitching and mentorship session, which gave junior arbitrators the chance to benefit from the expertise of older arbitrators present, was one of the high points of the occasion.

The discussion on cost arbitration was facilitated by Prof. Paul Idornigie, with participation from other attendees at the event.

Nze Duru is a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. He is also an alumnus of the prestigious Harvard University, University of Navana, Barcelona, Spain, and the Lagos Business School.
