Caleb University Holds 12th Convocation

A team of Caleb University Students from the Computer Science, Cyber Security and Software Engineering department has developed software named 'Valor' that has the ability to detect mango ripeness.

Nigeria’s first degree awarding private university, Caleb University, Lagos State, has scheduled to hold her 12th Convocation ceremony from 19th (today) to 21st January, 2023, for the conferment of Undergraduate and Postgraduate Degrees; Diplomas and Honorary Degrees.

The event will be held at the Institution’s Multipurpose Hall, Main Campus, Imota, Lagos.

The three-day event has been restructured to hold during the University’s Founder’s Week of 19th to 21st January with the theme ‘Digital Disruptions, Financial Inclusion, StartUps and the Challenge of Youth Creativity’.

The Convocation Lecturer is Mr. Babatunde Fajemirokun, Managing Director and CEO, AIICO Insurance Plc.

Mr Fajemirokun, a pensions, insurance and asset management expert, is a Fellow of the Society of Underwriting Professionals (FCII); Chartered Insurance Institute UK.

He is a Chartered Insurer, who possesses decades of professional experience cutting across management consulting, insurance, and asset management.

According to the University’s Information, Media and Publication Specialist, Mr Olawale Adekoya, the College of Pure and Applied Sciences (COPAS) and the College of Education (COLED) will hold their Convocation on the opening day, Thursday, 19th January, 2023 (today).

The College of Arts, Social and Management Sciences (CASMAS) takes day Two on Friday, 20th January, 2023.

For the final day, the College of Environmental Studies (COLENSMA); the College of Post Graduate Studies (COPOS) will take the centre stage.

Adekoya indicated that the event will also feature the Convocation/Founder’s Day Lecture, as well as Award of Honorary Degrees on Saturday, 21st January 2023.

Founded in 2007, Caleb University  located in Imota, Lagos but began full academic activities in January 2008.
