Archbishop Okeke Visits Odekpe, Amidst Heavy Flood

The Archbishop had to access the church premises using locally made canoe, a demonstration of his sincere love to his flock, Catholic faithful in the area said.

While delivering a homily, titled “the just man lives by his faith,” Archbishop Okeke charged the people of God to always remain patient in times of difficulties and challenges since the Lord will come to their rescue at a due time with accompanying blessings.

He reminded Christians that the world is not a bed of roses, but that with faith, the faithful will be on the winning side every time.

According to him, the secret of successful life is living by faith, and advised that people should always pray for faith to grow stronger and also teach others how to have faith in God.

The prelate sympathized with communities in Ogbaru who are currently being sacked by flood, praying God to save the people of the submerged areas, and for the flood to begin to receed and dry up.

According to a report by Trinitas correspondent at Odekpe who witnessed the heavy flooding, thousands of residents have fled their homes owing to the floods which submerged their houses.
