The National Assembly Election Tribunal sitting in Awka, Anambra State has upheld the victory of Hon. Uchenna Harris Okonkwo of the Labour Party in the Idemili North and South Federal Constituency election held on February 25 2023.

His opponent in the election, Hon. Ikenna Iyiegbu, popularly known as Ike Cubana of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) had filed a petition challenging his victory at the poll.

All grounds of the petition filed by Iyiegbu were dismissed for lack of merit.

Hon. Okonkwo, who hails from Ojoto a town in Idemil South Local Government Area in Anambra State, defeated the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) two-time incumbent, Obinna Chidoka from Obosi and the APGA’s Iyiegbu in the epic contest.
