President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of four new permanent secretaries to fill vacancies in Nigeria’s federal civil service, the government said on Thursday.

The appointees are Warrens Bekearedebo Augusta from Bayelsa State, Jones-Nebo Nkiruka Bella from Enugu State, Aminu Sani Yargaya from Kano State, and Shoretire Ayinda Kamil from Ogun State, according to a statement from the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.

The government said the appointments followed what it described as a rigorous selection process aimed at strengthening leadership and improving service delivery across the public service.

Didi Esther Walson-Jack, head of the civil service, congratulated the new permanent secretaries and said the appointments reflected the administration’s commitment to transparency, merit and professionalism in the civil service.

She added that the appointments were part of efforts by the Tinubu administration to build a more competent and results-driven public service capable of supporting the government’s development agenda.
