The Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF) has announced plans to appoint five new Permanent Secretaries to fill current and upcoming vacancies in Adamawa, Ogun, Kano, Bayelsa, and Enugu states.
In a circular dated 12 January 2026, Mrs Didi Esther Walson-Jack, Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, said the appointments follow approval by President Bola Tinubu.
Join our WhatsApp Channel“Following the President’s approval, the process for the appointment of five Permanent Secretaries will commence immediately,” the circular stated.
Eligible candidates must be directors on Grade Level 17 and have served at least two years in their current role.
They must also be verified on the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) and have no pending disciplinary cases.

Applicants are required to demonstrate indigeneship of the state where the vacancy exists.
For female civil servants, indigeneship cannot be acquired through marriage.
Permanent Secretaries are expected to submit supporting documents, including personal files, a list of eligible directors, and two copies of each director’s curriculum vitae.

All submissions must reach the Career Management Office, HCSF, at the Federal Secretariat Complex, Phase II, Abuja, by 4:00 pm on 23 January 2026.
