2024: Tinubu Charts New Economic Path, Vows To Tackle Food Inflation, Power Crisis

In his national broadcast from Abuja on Monday, President Bola Tinubu laid out a blueprint for Nigeria’s economic direction in the coming year.

With a focus on critical sectors, he pledged an accelerated pace of service delivery.

Highlighting his top priorities, Tinubu emphasized combating food inflation by ensuring food security and affordability. He vowed to cultivate 500,000 hectares of farmlands and reiterated that the Federal Government had in November, kick-started the National Wheat Development Programme in Jigawa State.

Additionally, the President vowed to revamp tax and fiscal policies, removing barriers to local and foreign investments. He assured a business-friendly environment, promising swift reforms to bolster competitiveness.

In a move to uplift the workforce, Tinubu committed to implementing a new living wage for workers, asserting the importance of economic well-being for all.

Furthermore, he announced the imminent commencement of operations of local refineries, including the Port Harcourt and Dangote refineries, to enhance the country’s fuel production capacity.

Lastly, President Tinubu underscored the commitment to uninterrupted power supply, highlighting ongoing projects, including the Siemens Energy power initiative, to reinforce Nigeria’s transmission lines and bolster the national grid’s reliability.

“Steadfast in his resolve, President Tinubu’s outlined economic agenda addresses crucial concerns while aiming for a transformative trajectory in 2024,” stated industry experts, welcoming the comprehensive and ambitious roadmap.
