As Nigeria grapples with soaring inflation of 28.92%, the aviation regulatory body justifies this expenditure within its crucial role in the nation’s transportation and economy.
“NCAA plays a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity of Nigeria’s aviation sector,” states the agency’s spokesperson. “Our budget allocation reflects the necessity to uphold safety standards, enhance training, and meet international commitments.”

The breakdown of the proposed expenditure includes N3.31 billion for local transport and training travels, N4.32 billion for international transport, and a notable N1.94 billion contribution to international organisations.
Amidst the hefty travel budget, the agency emphasizes its commitment to essential infrastructure projects, including the construction of office buildings and airport maintenance, totaling N5.97 billion.
Critics raise concerns over the seemingly disproportionate allocation amid a challenging economic climate, with some questioning the prioritization of international trips over pressing domestic needs.
