How Nigeria's Power Minister Narrowly Escaped Death On Plane Crash

Nigeria’s Minister of Power, Mr Adebayo Adelabu, has narrowly escaped death as a private jet he boarded, reportedly crashed in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The jet being operated by Flint Aero was said to have landed abruptly on Friday night at the Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport.

The aircraft had departed the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja on Friday evening only for it to crash into a bush during an effort to land close to the airport’s runway in Ibadan at about 10 p.m.

A security personnel at the airport who pleaded anonymity confirmed this to reporters on Saturday morning, saying that while landing, the aircraft derailed from the runway, causing it to end up in the nearby bush.

According to him, there were only two persons on board, the pilot and the Minister of Power, adding that further discoveries show that no life was lost but the aircraft sustained substantial damage.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) says it has commenced an investigation into the cause of the accident.
