A security personnel at the airport who pleaded anonymity confirmed this to reporters on Saturday morning, saying that while landing, the aircraft derailed from the runway, causing it to end up in the nearby bush.

According to him, there were only two persons on board, the pilot and the Minister of Power, adding that further discoveries show that no life was lost but the aircraft sustained substantial damage.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) says it has commenced an investigation into the cause of the accident.
