It has been a week with activities lined up to honour the late Group Chief Executive Officer of Access Holdings, Dr Herbert Wigwe. Wigwe died alongside his wife, son and former Group Chairman of the Nigerian Exchange Group, Abimbola Ogunbanjo, in a helicopter crash near the California-Nevada border in the United States on 9 February 2024.

It has been a harvest of glowing tributes from family, friends and professional colleagues since the funeral programme to honour Wigwe, his wife and his son began on Monday, 4 March up until Wednesday, 6 March. Monday was Bankers Committee’s Celebration of Herbert, followed by a Service of Songs for Chizzy on Tuesday morning, 5 March, and another Service of Songs for the deceased Wigwes in the evening of the same day.

On Wednesday March 6, there was a commemoration event to celebrate Herbert’s impactful contributions in Society followed by an Evening Service of Songs for Herbert at Redeemed Christian Church, City of David Parish.

According to the funeral programme, there will be a Service of Songs at Herbert’s Dad’s parish on Thursday, March 7 and subsequently, and traveling to Port Harcourt for Chizzy’s funeral service and interment, as well as holding a Service of Songs for Herbert and his wife.

Friday, March 8 will be the final farewell, with Funeral services and interments for both Herbert & Mrs. Wigwe.
