Air Peace has expanded its regional footprint with the launch of a new Lagos-Douala-Libreville route, strengthening air connectivity between Nigeria, Cameroon and Gabon as the airline intensifies efforts to deepen intra-African travel, Prime Business Africa reports.
The inaugural flight, which commenced on Sunday, August 2, 2026, came a day after the airline launched its Lagos-Conakry-Bamako service, underscoring its strategy to position Lagos as a major hub for regional and international connections.

The new route links Nigeria’s commercial capital with Douala, Cameroon, and Libreville, Gabon, creating new opportunities for business, trade, tourism and cultural exchanges across West and Central Africa.
Air Peace’s delegation, led by Chief Commercial Officer Nowel Ngala and Director of Flight Operations Captain Augustine Kamano, was received at the Douala International Airport by representatives of Nigeria’s diplomatic mission in Cameroon, the Nigerian community, airport authorities and aviation regulators.

Representing the Nigerian Ambassador to Cameroon, Foreign Affairs Officer Suliat A. Paramole commended the airline for strengthening the air connection between both countries, noting that the new service would improve mobility and further support bilateral relations.
President General of the Nigerian Community in Cameroon’s Littoral Region, Hon. Chief Sir Lovinus Ezeh, described the route as a significant development for Nigerians living in the region, adding that it would ease travel and promote stronger economic and social ties.
Representing the Douala Airport Authority, Lt. Col. Adolphe Nyamke Bongkwaha welcomed the airline’s entry into the market, highlighting the role of the new connection in enhancing regional movement and reinforcing Douala’s position as an aviation gateway.
Ngala said the launch marked another milestone in Air Peace’s expansion across Africa, adding that the route would provide passengers with improved access to destinations within the continent and beyond through the airline’s wider network.
He reaffirmed the airline’s commitment to building a more connected African aviation market by enabling passengers to travel seamlessly from domestic destinations through Lagos to regional and international routes, including London and the Caribbean.
The inaugural flight later arrived in Libreville, where it was welcomed by officials from Gabon’s civil aviation authorities, Libreville Airport management and representatives of the Nigerian community.
Director of Flight Operations at the Agence Nationale de l’Aviation Civile, Georges Renaud Maxime Moubamou Malekou, welcomed Air Peace’s entry into the Gabonese market, describing the route as a step towards stronger regional connectivity and closer ties between Gabon and Nigeria.

Managing Director of Aéroport de Libreville, Igor Simard, said the new service would expand travel options for passengers and strengthen Libreville’s links with other African destinations.
Representing the Nigerian community in Gabon, Mike Iwu said the direct connection would provide greater convenience for Nigerians and other travellers while further strengthening ties between the diaspora and Nigeria.
The launch of the Lagos-Douala-Libreville route, following the introduction of the Lagos-Conakry-Bamako service, highlights Air Peace’s broader expansion strategy aimed at improving connectivity across Africa.
With Douala and Libreville added to its growing network, the airline continues to position itself as a key player in expanding intra-African air travel while supporting trade, tourism, investment and economic integration across the continent.
