Nigeria’s largest carrier, Air Peace, has denied reports alleging that its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Allen Ifechukwu Onyema, and Vice Chairman, Alice Ojochide Onyema, are facing a tax lawsuit filed by the Lagos State Government, Prime Business Africa reports.
In an official statement issued on Monday, the airline said neither the company nor the Onyemas had been served with any court summons or received formal notification of the purported legal action.
The airline described as “surprising and shocking” claims that the alleged suit had been ongoing since February without any form of service or communication to the parties involved.

The airline, however, expressed willingness to engage with the Lagos State Government in the event of any discrepancies, noting that it remained open to reviewing and reconciling any potential shortfalls in the interest of transparency and due process.
Air Peace also highlighted what it described as the longstanding contributions of its leadership to Nigeria’s aviation sector, citing their commitment to integrity, resilience and national development.
The company added that it would not be distracted by the allegations and would continue to focus on delivering services to the flying public.
