Air Peace Reschedules Lagos-London Flight After Technical Check

May 9, 2026

Air Peace has announced a temporary disruption to its scheduled Lagos–London Gatwick service after a routine post-boarding technical check detected a minor aircraft fault requiring immediate attention, Prime Business Africa reports.

In a statement issued by the airline’s management, Air Peace said the issue was identified after passengers had completed boarding for the flight departing from Lagos to London Gatwick Airport.

The airline stated that the aircraft was immediately withdrawn from service in line with global aviation safety standards, while passengers safely disembarked.

According to the airline, the decision was taken as part of its commitment to prioritising the safety and wellbeing of passengers and crew above operational schedules.

“While we understand the inconvenience this situation may have caused, taking swift preventive action was the responsible and necessary decision,” the statement read.

Air Peace disclosed that affected passengers were promptly informed and provided with support services, including hotel accommodation and other necessary assistance.

To minimise further disruption, the airline said a replacement aircraft would be dispatched from London, while passengers were expected to depart later on Saturday morning.

The carrier also thanked passengers for their patience, understanding, and cooperation, reaffirming its commitment to safe and reliable flight operations.
