Mohammed, who just got re-elected for second tenure, is replacing Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, who is now the deputy chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF).

PDP acting national chairman, Umar Damagun, reminded the party members that as an opposition, they need to work together as one family.

“I want to reiterate, on the issue of the national assembly, we have to know we are an opposition. In order to remain relevant, we must work together as one family.

“That is the only way you will be able to ensure that your relevance is being determined,” Damagun stated.

Presidential candidate of PDP in the February 25 election, Atiku Abubakar, and other chieftains of the party, were in attendance.

Atiku urged PDP members not to lose hope yet, asserting that there is hope of victory at the election petition tribunal.

The former Vice President who lost to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), is challenging the outcome of the election in court.
