“Due to safety concerns in the aviation sector expressed by members of the public, I have summoned the heads of the regulatory agencies to my office later today to review the incidents that are the cause of these concerns and to ensure that appropriate steps are taken to forestall future occurrence and to apply sanctions, where necessary, regarding the past incidents,” Keyamo wrote on his X page

Recall that there were some incidents in some of the nation’s airports recently that raised concerns about air safety.

The nose wheel of a Boeing 737 aircraft with the registration number: 5N-BYQ belonging to Aero Contractors got stuck after landing at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA), Abuja.  The incident led to the closure of the airport’s runway for a few hours until the aircraft was towed away to enable other aircraft to fly in and out of Abuja.

Also, a Lagos-Abuja flight of United Nigeria Airlines was recently diverted to Asaba, Delta State capital, due to poor weather conditions.
