On Thursday, the Nigerian stock market extended its downward trend following a sell-off in International Energy Insurance, John Holt, among others.
The sell-off wiped off N606.68 billion from the Nigerian Exchange (NGX), dragging down the market capitalisation of the bourse to N156.88 trillion, from N157.48 trillion on Wednesday.

Over N50.64 billion was exchanged for 4.23 billion shares in 41,454 deals on Thursday, up from the N20.02 billion traded for 1.43 billion shares in 38,221 deals on Wednesday.

- FGSUK2031S4’s share price increased by N19.89 kobo, from N80.01 to N99.90 kobo per share.
- International Energy Insurance share value grew by N0.44 kobo, from N4.40 kobo to N4.84 kobo per share.
- John Holt’s share appreciated by N0.90 kobo to end trading at N10, having opened with N9.10 kobo.
- TransExpress’ share ended trading at N2.59 kobo per share, from N2.36 kobo per share – indicating an increase of N0.23 kobo.
- Sunu Assurance share value was up by N0.28 kobo, after closing at N3.58 kobo, from N3.30 kobo per share.

- FGSUK2027S3 share price depreciated by N10.96 kobo, dwindling from N98 to N87.03 per share.
- Unilever recorded a N13.10 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N118.30 kobo, after opening with N131.40 kobo.
- Chellaram reported a N1.15 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N10.75 kobo, after opening with N11.90 kobo per share.
- NIDF lost N15.60 kobo in its share price, to sell at N147.70 kobo, down from N163.30 kobo per share.
- DAAR Communications reported a decline of N0.16 kobo, from the previous share price of N1.73 kobo, to end trading at N1.57 kobo per share.

- VFD Group recorded 151.83 million shares valued at N1.86 billion.
- Chams saw investors trade 33.74 million of its shares valued at N153.73 million.
- First HoldCo recorded 28.25 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N3.88 billion.
- CMFC reported that traders exchanged 24.59 million shares valued at N78.20 million.
