This was contained in a statement signed by the head of corporate communications, EEDC, Mr. Emeka Ezeh.

Ezeh said the blackout will be as a result of reinstallation of a collapsed tower on the New-Heaven-Otukpo transmission line.

Part of the statement reads “ The outage is to enable the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) technical crew to carry our replanting of the collapsed tower on the New-Haven-Otukpo 132KV transmission line.

“Consequently, the exercise will affect electricity supply to the Nru TCN Station where the 33KV feeders are fed. As a result, all our customers in Nsukka district will be without electricity supply during the duration of this maintenance.”

Mr. Emeka Ezeh however regretted the inconveniences the development will cause the district.
