Buhari Felicitates With Delta Govt, As Asaba Monarch Marks 98 Birthday

President Mohammadu Buhari has felicitated with the government and people of Delta State as the Monarch of Asaba, His Royal Highness, Prof. Obi Chike Edozie celebrates 98 years birthday.

The monarch who is addressed as the ‘Asagba’ of Asaba has been on the throne for 31 years and highly revered by the people.

The President stated that the Monarch has greatly contributed to development, peace and overall cohesiveness among people of the State and the entire country.

According to a statement signed by Mallam Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant, Media and Publicity to the President, it stated that the Buhari said “rejoiced with people of Asaba, and indeed Delta State who must be very proud to have one of the most respected traditional rulers in the country.

“Your passion for the well-being of your subjects, the State and the Nation at large is legendary. Your devotion to development and peace in all facets is quite commendable and worthy of emulation,” it stated.

Shehu said that President Buhari applauded the monarch for his scholarly disposition as well as protection of traditional institutions and values. “He has never refrained from using his wealth of knowledge and experience to proffer good and timely advice to people in positions of authority,” he buttressed.

“As God almighty blesses you with long life, my prayer is that the country will continue to benefit from the wisdom and generous thoughts emanating from the throne,” the President added.
