Aliko Dangote’s Company Generates N152bn Revenue From Selling Salt

Nascon Allied Industries Plc (NASCON), a salt-producing company majorly owned by Aliko Dangote, generated N152.68 billion in revenue between January and December 2025, surpassing the N120.38 billion earned in 2024.

The turnover grew by 27 percent, above the 21 percent year-on-year increase recorded in the cost of sales, which jumped from N64,86 billion to N78.73 billion, according to NASCON’s audited results for the year ended December 31, 2025.

Following the deduction of production costs, NASCON recorded N73,94 billion gross profit last year, which exceeded the N55,52 billion reported in 2024, representing a 33 percent growth.

However, other income dropped by 10 percent year-on-year, from N261 million to N236 million, while other operating losses declined by 18 percent, from N2.05 billion to N1.68 billion.

Also, the company boosted its earnings with a 13 percent decline in distribution costs, which dropped to N20.7 billion in 2025, from N23.6 billion spent the year before, however, administrative expenses grew by 29 percent to N8.96 billion, from N6.92 billion.

According to the company’s financial statement, NASCON recorded N42.89 billion last year, from N23.03 billion in 2024, indicating an 86 percent growth.

The salt producer further strengthened its balance sheet with a 235 percent growth in finance income, which increased from N1.79 billion in 2024 to N6 billion in 2025, while also reducing its finance costs by 44 percent year-on-year, from N1.18 billion to N659 million.

At the end of the period under review, the company reported N48.23 billion profit before tax (PBT) in 2025, which surpassed the N23.65 billion reached the year before, reflecting a 104 percent increase.

Out of this, NASCON incurred N14.71 billion income tax last year, up by 82 percent compared to the N8.06 billion paid in 2024.

As a result, the company reported profit after tax (PAT) of N33.53 billion in 2025, rising by 115 percent when compared to the N15.58 billion achieved in 2024.
