The market capitalisation of the Nigerian Exchange (NGX), also known as the stock market, increased by N73.49 billion to N105.95 trillion on Friday, January 23, from the N105.88 trillion recorded on Thursday, January 22.

Also, the all-share index (ASI) expanded slightly by 114.81 basis points, from 165,397.37 ASI to 165,512.18 ASI.

The volume of shares traded on Friday was 731,66 million in 44,005 deals, worth N19.04 billion, compared to the 768.25 million shares exchanged in 46,481 deals, valued at N21.18 billion, on Thursday.

Top five gainers

  • Morison’s share price increased by N0.68 kobo to rise from N6.84 kobo to N7.52 kobo per share.
  • UHOM REIT’s share value grew by N6.45 kobo, from N64.90 kobo to N71.35 kobo per share.
  • SCOA ended trading at N23.80 kobo per share, from N21.65 kobo per share – indicating an increase of N2.15 kobo.
  • RT Briscoe gained N0.54 kobo to end trading at N5.98 kobo, having opened with N5.44 kobo.
  • Austin Laz’s share value was up by N0.40 kobo, after closing at N4.49 kobo from N4.09 per share.

Top five losers

  • Neimeth’s share price depreciated by N1.45 kobo, dwindling from N14.70 kobo to N13.25 kobo per share.
  • NSLTECH recorded a N0.10 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N0.97 kobo after opening with N1.07 per share.
  • Eterna lost N2.55 kobo in its share price after trading hours, to sell at N28.45 kobo from N31 per share.
  • UPL recorded a N0.40 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N6 after opening with N6.40 kobo per share.
  • Eunisell reported a decline of N9.55 kobo from the previous day’s share price of N163.50 kobo to end trading at N153.95 kobo per share.

  • ZICHIS Agro recorded 48.81 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N127.88 million.
  • Fidelity Bank reported that traders exchanged 39.60 million shares valued at N758.19 million.
