Following a 3,687.45 basis points increase in the all-share index, the market capitalisation of the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) increased by N2.36 trillion on Friday, February 13.

The index had increased to 182,313.08 ASI, from the 178,625.63 ASI recorded on Thursday, February 12.

Consequently, the market capitalisation of the NGX appreciated by 2.06 percent, from N114.66 trillion to N117.02 trillion.

The trading floor recorded 936.39 million shares exchanged in 50,068 deals, valued at N52.72 billion, against the 698.34 million shares exchanged in 50,886 deals, worth N28.43 billion, on Thursday.

Top five gainers

  • Cornerstone Insurance’s share price increased by N0.58 kobo to rise from N5.80 kobo to N6.38 kobo per share.
  • McNichols’ share value grew by N0.70 kobo, from N7 to N7.70 kobo per share.
  • Union Dicon ended trading at N20.90 kobo per share, from N19 per share – indicating an increase of N1.90 kobo.
  • Nestle’s share appreciated by N242 to end trading at N2,662, having opened with N2420.
  • Infinity Trust Mortgage Bank’s share value was up by N0.90 kobo, after closing at N9.90 kobo from N9 per share.

Top five losers

  • Skyway Aviation’s share price depreciated by N15, dwindling from N150 to N135 per share.
  • Guinness recorded a N34.90 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N315 after opening with N349.90 kobo per share.
  • Omatek lost N0.31 kobo in its share price after trading hours, to sell at N2.99 kobo from N3.30 kobo per share.
  • NPF Microfinance Bank recorded a N0.39 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N5.60 kobo after opening with N5.99 kobo per share.
  • ETranzact reported a decline of N1.55 kobo from the previous day’s share price of N24.50 kobo to end trading at N22.95 kobo per share.

Top five trading equities

  • First HoldCo reported that 106.34 million shares valued at N5.11 billion were traded on its floor.
  • Zenith Bank recorded 72.59 million shares valued at N5.72 billion.
  • United Capital saw investors trade 45.39 million of its shares valued at N963.17 million.
  • GTCO recorded 45.04 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N4.93 billion.
  • Fidelity Bank reported that traders exchanged 31.35 million shares valued at N639.03 million.
