Air Peace has expanded its West African network with the launch of direct flights on the Lagos–Conakry–Bamako route, a move expected to strengthen regional connectivity, boost trade and tourism, and improve travel across the sub-region, Prime Business Africa reports.
The inaugural flight departed Murtala Muhammed International Airport Terminal 2 in Lagos on Saturday, August 1, connecting Nigeria’s commercial capital with the Republic of Guinea and the Republic of Mali as part of the airline’s regional expansion strategy.

An Air Peace delegation led by the airline’s Chief Commercial Officer, Nowel Ngala, and Director of Flight Operations, Captain Augustine Kamano, was received in Conakry by Guinea’s Minister of Transport, Ousmane Gaoul Diallo; Nigeria’s Ambassador to Guinea, Umaru Kamfu; Director of the Civil Aviation Authority, Thiam Oumar Sekou; and members of the Nigerian community.

Diallo described the new route as a major step towards strengthening economic and diplomatic ties between Nigeria and Guinea, saying it would facilitate the movement of people, goods and investment between both countries.
Sekou welcomed Air Peace’s entry into the Guinean market, noting that improved air connectivity would support aviation growth and deepen regional integration across West Africa.
Nigeria’s Ambassador to Guinea, Umaru Kamfu, commended the airline for expanding its African network, saying the new service would strengthen bilateral relations and provide more convenient travel for passengers across the region.

Speaking on behalf of the airline, Ngala said the Conakry and Bamako services form part of Air Peace’s strategy to build a stronger African network, enabling passengers from its domestic destinations to connect through Lagos to regional and international destinations, including London and the Caribbean.
He reaffirmed the airline’s commitment to expanding connectivity across Africa while creating greater travel convenience and access to new business opportunities.
Following the stop in Conakry, the inaugural flight proceeded to Bamako, where it was received at Modibo Keita International Airport by Deputy Director of Assistance Aéroportuaire du Mali, Abdrahamane Farota; Technical Director Bahide Konandji, representing the airport’s Director General; and members of the Nigerian community in Mali.
Farota said the new service would strengthen air links between Nigeria and Mali while creating fresh opportunities for trade, tourism and economic cooperation.
Konandji described the route as a welcome addition to Mali’s aviation sector, expressing confidence that it would improve connectivity between Mali, Nigeria and other destinations across Air Peace’s growing network.
Members of the Nigerian community in Mali also welcomed the service, describing it as a more convenient travel option that would further strengthen ties between both countries.
With the addition of Conakry and Bamako, Air Peace now serves 13 destinations across West Africa. The airline said the expansion underscores its commitment to enhancing intra-African connectivity, expanding Nigeria’s aviation footprint and positioning Lagos as a strategic gateway for travel across Africa and beyond.
