Air Peace on Friday completed its third humanitarian evacuation flight from South Africa, bringing home 268 Nigerians under the Federal Government’s voluntary repatriation programme, further boosting efforts to assist citizens affected by recent xenophobic tensions in the country, Prime Business Africa reports.
The latest operation brings the total number of Nigerians evacuated by the airline to 801 across three missions, underscoring the scale of the government’s response and Air Peace’s continuing role in emergency humanitarian interventions.

The airline said the evacuation was carried out with its Boeing 777-200 wide-body aircraft, leveraging its long-haul capability to support the Federal Government’s efforts to ensure the safe return of Nigerians willing to leave South Africa.
The 268 returnees follow the evacuation of 262 Nigerians on June 11 and another 271 on June 30, bringing the cumulative number of evacuees to 801.
Air Peace described the mission as a demonstration of its commitment to national service, noting that it remains prepared to deploy its fleet whenever Nigerians require emergency assistance outside the country.

According to the airline, it has undertaken more than 16 humanitarian and evacuation missions across Africa and other parts of the world since it commenced operations, deploying its aircraft and operational expertise during emergencies, crisis evacuations and government-backed interventions.
