On Monday, July 28, the stock market capitalisation increased by N399.88 billion to N85,45 trillion, from the N85.05 trillion recorded on Friday, July 25.

The all-share index (ASI) expanded to 135,166.51 ASI, from 134,452.93 ASI, representing an increase of 713.58 basis points.

Equity traders exchanged 795.59 million shares in 37,626 deals, worth N23,23 billion, compared to the 713,72 million shares traded in 24,880 deals, valued at N24.23 billion on Friday.

Top five gainers

  • Academy share price increased by N0.93 kobo, to rise from N9.31 kobo to N10.24 kobo per share.
  • Champion Brew’s share value grew by N1.23 kobo, from N12.32 kobo to N13.55 kobo per share.
  • Tripple Gee ended trading at N3.86 kobo per share, from N3.51 kobo per share – indicating an increase of N0.35 kobo.
  • May and Baker gained N1.70 kobo to end trading at N18.80 kobo, having opened with N17.10 kobo.
  • UAC Nigeria’s share value was up by N5.45 kobo, after closing at N60.40 kobo from N54.95 kobo per share.

Top five losers

  • Livestock’s share price depreciated by N0.90 kobo, dwindling from N9 to N8.10 kobo per share.
  • TIP recorded a N1.61 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N14.52 kobo after opening with N16.13 kobo per share.
  • Ellah Lakes lost N0.89 kobo in its share price after trading hours, to sell at N8.91 kobo from N9.80 kobo per share.
  • NGX Group reported a decline of N4.80 kobo from the previous day’s share price of N79.80 kobo to end trading at N75 per share.
  • Thomas Wyatt recorded a N0.17 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N2.90 kobo after opening with N3.07 per share.
