In a groundbreaking operation that signals a significant blow against criminal activities in Katsina State, law enforcement authorities have successfully tracked down and apprehended two individuals suspected of being informants for notorious bandits.
The swift action by the Katsina State Police Command is seen as a substantial step forward in the ongoing battle against criminal gangs within the region.

The arrest of these individuals is believed to have dealt a significant blow to the intricate web of banditry.
Police spokesperson ASP Abubakar Sadiq, made the disclosure at a press briefing held at the State Command Headquarters on Thursday.
According to Sadiq, the suspects allegedly conspired, deceived, and manipulated an acquaintance, Salmanu, leading him to a prearranged location between Funtua and Zamfara State.
There, they reportedly collaborated with a notorious bandit leader known as Gora, who is rumored to have been hiding in the Zamfara forest. Together, they are accused of orchestrating the kidnapping of the victim.
He said that further investigations into the matter revealed the suspects’ connection to the crime, and both reportedly confessed to their involvement. This breakthrough is seen as a significant achievement in the ongoing mission to dismantle the infrastructure that supports banditry and criminal activities.
In an unrelated development, law enforcement also managed to apprehend a suspected serial rapist and murderer linked to the tragic death of an eight-year-old girl in Kanon-Haki village, located in the Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The suspect, identified as Jibrin Yusuf, a 25-year-old male, was taken into custody on August 2. The victim’s father had enlisted the suspect’s assistance to transport fertilizer between his farms. Tragically, the suspect allegedly took advantage of the situation, leading to the heinous crime.
The arrest of Jibrin Yusuf is hailed as a victory for justice and a step towards making communities safer, as it showcases the commitment of law enforcement agencies to put an end to such heinous acts.
Furthermore, the Katsina State Police Command has announced the capture of a suspected motorcycle thief, Sadiq Abdullahi, aged 22. The arrest, which took place on August 7 during a routine patrol, highlights the police’s continuous efforts to curb theft and related crimes.
The suspect was found in possession of a motorcycle suspected to have been stolen. He reportedly provided crucial information leading to the identification of his accomplices.
Investigations into these cases continue as authorities work towards ensuring a safer environment for the citizens of Katsina State.
“Nemesis caught up with the suspect when he was accosted by men of the command’s Anti-kidnapping Unit while on routine patrol along Katsina – Jibia road, in possession of a suspected stolen white Jing Cheng motorcycle (rubber rubber),” Saqid stated.
“During the course of the investigation, the suspect confessed to have stolen the said motorcycle from Gafai quarters, Katsina, belonging to one Ahmad Lawal Babaye, ‘m’, of the same address.
“He further mentioned one Surajo Sani, ‘m’, of Magamar Jibia, as the receiver of his stolen items, one Sani Abba alias Uban Shegu, ‘m’, of Kofar-Yandaka quarters, Katsina, and one Hamisu Mamman, ‘m’, as his abettors. The Investigation is ongoing.”
