Police Arrest Alleged Fake PFIPC Director-General Adeniyi Adeyemi After Court Issues Warrant

July 14, 2026

The self-acclaimed Director-General of the non-existent Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), Adeniyi Adeyemi, has been arrested shortly after a Federal High Court in Abuja issued a bench warrant for his arrest, Prime Business Africa reports.

Adeyemi’s arrest followed an order by Justice Mohammed Umar after the defendant failed to appear before the court for his scheduled arraignment on an eight-count charge bordering on forgery, fraud and impersonation.

The case, marked FHC/ABJ/CR/562/2025, was listed as number 12 on the court’s cause list. However, Adeyemi was absent when the matter was called, despite a lawyer, Mr Genesis Francis, announcing his appearance on his behalf.

The prosecution, led by the Inspector-General of Police, subsequently applied for a bench warrant to compel Adeyemi’s appearance, a request the court granted.

According to reports, security operatives apprehended Adeyemi shortly after the court order was issued.

Adeyemi’s arrest comes amid controversy surrounding his claim to head the PFIPC, an entity the Presidency has described as non-existent and not a recognised government institution.
